York Energy Advice is a partnership project between St Nicks and York Community Energy set up in 2021 thanks to funding from the Energy Industry Voluntary Redress Scheme and support from local partner organisations.
York Energy Advice
The friendly team at York Energy Advice provide impartial advice and support to York residents with reducing energy bills and making your home more energy efficient. The project started as a partnership between St Nicks and York Community Energy, thanks to funding from the Energy Redress Scheme.
In the first two years from June 2021 to May 2023, York Energy Advice reached around 860 households, made 337 home visits to provide direct support and installed energy saving measures in 184 homes. We’ve also trained 97 local support groups’ staff and volunteers on energy issues.
The project is now run solely by York Community Energy, part-funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and City of York Council. They aim to help even more York residents who are struggling to pay energy bills and keep warm in winter.
