Partners

We are fortunate enough to have some amazing partners who work with us to help us deliver on our aims. Some supporters help us on an ongoing basis, others as a one off. Whatever the support, please know that we appreciate all those who help us make things happen every day here at St Nicks!

City of York Council: we have a great ongoing working relationship with CYC in relation to both our residential recycling and our 24 acre Nature Reserve. CYC supports our Holiday Activity and Food Clubs and Warm Space.

C & T: Max and Paul have worked with us to create some visual repositories of some of our history and activities, together with GPS triggered trails through the reserve for both adults and children. Mindfulness and Poetry are also themes of these new interactive experiences.

Environment Agency: a key partner for our work aiming to restore natural processes of some of our urban rivers and becks.

Foss Park Hospital: helping us to build a pathway to recovery from hospital discharge to engagement in Ecotherapy groups.

Goodgym York: Goodgym often help us with events and volunteering and are always willing to get stuck in when they are onsite!

Hey Smile and the Humber and North Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership: helping us to develop and learn about Green Social Prescribing.

Lewis Outing: our “official” photographer! Many of the images on our website and in our Annual Report are courtesy of Lewis’ skills and expertise!

North and East Yorkshire Ecological Data Centre: NEYEDC have supported St Nicks in much of our ecological surveying and monitoring, helping us to gather and share essential information about species and habitats across the city.

River Foss Society: local guardians of the River Foss, RFS are a vital partner in delivering restoration work on the Foss.

Tansy Beetle Action Group: a wide range of partners supporting Tansy beetle conservation on the Ouse.

York Cares: we partner with York Cares to provide volunteering opportunities across different sites in York.

York Consortium of Drainage Boards: we are working with the Drainage Boards to improve river management across the York area.

York CVS: York Centre for Voluntary Service (known as York CVS) support and champion York’s Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) Sector. We work closely with CVS on our green social prescribing Ecotherapy programme.

Yorkshire Dales Rivers Trust: a key partner who lead on the Dales to Vale Rivers Network, of which we are also members.

Yorkshire Water: we work together to restore and enhance York's network of rivers.

Yorkshire Wildlife Trust: YWT lead on the Yorkshire Water Vole project which has supported work to determine the current state of water vole population on the River Foss, and begun work on their conservation.
