Friends of St Nicholas Fields was registered as a charity in 1998. Please see the History pages to read about its origins. As of 1 April 2014 the charity has re-launched as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) with a working name of St Nicks. The organisation is governed by a board of trustees.
The vision of St Nicks is for York to be a city where people value wildlife, the environment and each other equally to sustain a rich and healthy life for all.
The mission of St Nicks is to create lasting positive change in actions and attitudes of York residents to enable them to move towards a sustainable future. We achieve this through:
Improving St Nicks Local Nature Reserve, enriching its wildlife value and enhancing its educational and recreational value for all visitors.
If you like our vision and achievements listed in our latest annual report, join us to help us achieve it. Our work is also supported by funders/sponsors, through membership and working with other organisations and by our kind patrons. We would like to thank them, one and all.
