Join Bearing Fruit tutor Freya Lovett and be a part of our community orchard at St Nicks Local Nature Reserve; managing existing wildlife habitats and creating new ones. Help us to look after our established fruit trees, soft fruit sites and Yorkshire heritage apple trees. Learn conservation skills such as scything, pruning and hedge laying from our experienced tutors. A friendly and welcoming group where novices or those with more experience can learn a their own pace. This group meets on a Monday 12-1.30pm.

Since the pandemic Freya has been sending a weekly email to Bearing Fruit participants with inspiration about all things nature. Freya supports participants to connect with each other by sharing their nature finds and interests. To find out if the group is currently meeting in person or to join the online group go to our main Ecotherapy pages.

“Good demonstrations of what to do and choices in how to get involved. Staff – very knowledgeable and interested in the people on the project and what they are interested in. Also good to have regular chats by phone and emails about nature and ecotherapy subjects.  Thank you.”
