The recycling team have had to say goodbye to a hardworking, dear old friend – Edith.

Edith suffered a catastrophic break down in the summer: her rear axel snapped. The quotes to repair were far higher than the vehicle was worth (financially only, sentimentally is a different story!) and in the best interests of the charity we decided it was better to cut our loses and sell as spares and repairs.

An electric utility vehicle is in the middle of a terraced street with sun shining through the front window from the back, on either side cars and vans, and houses.are
Edith was collected by an organisation that owns two other Goupil G3s, who will be using whatever they can as spares. So in a way, Edith is still doing what she’s always done – keeping materials in use as long as possible!

Whilst we love our Goupils, there are a lot of issues with getting parts and finding mechanics who are willing to work on them, so we decided not to replace Edith. Instead, we have an electric cargo trike on order - St Nicks’ fourth! The Green Corridors team have very generously been loaning out theirs while we wait on our new one. Keep an eye on socials, as we’ll be looking to you all to help us name it.
