This year’s first ever York Open Eco Homes event was a great success with over 300 visits made by around 200 people to 13 local homes. This is a significant part of the total 967 visitors at the 16 spring events around the country which were funded by Green Open Homes Network! We’re now looking at how to make next year’s event even better. Please help us by filling in a quick 4-question tick box survey. All surveys filled in by 6th September will be entered into a prize draw for St Nicks membership, a bottle of wine (or organic juice if preferred) and a pack of greetings cards.
The photo shows our Events Officer Ivana Jakubkova with Katie Davis, who won the prize draw for York Open Eco Homes visitors, and Energy Adviser Denise Hall from Yorkshire Energy Partnership. The Partnership had donated a free energy home audit which Denise delivered along with some energy saving freebies. Katie has already taken some of the measures suggested by the audit and will be using its findings to help her plan the house refurbishment. We hope she will then take part in one of the future events as a host home!
