Help us get our volunteers back

Happy volunteer

We have come up with a plan to enable socially distant volunteering on site but to do so we need your help. We only have a very limited amount of tools. In the past, it has not been a problem for volunteers to share tools because there was no risk in this but now, there is risk of transmitting COVID-19 if someone who is infected uses a tool and then that tool is used by other volunteers. We can and do use sanitiser to help address the issue but having more tools would make it much easier to bring volunteers back.

Could you donate to help us buy extra tools? We also need extra gloves so that each volunteer can have their own pair – usually our volunteers share communal gloves but this can no longer happen. Finally, if we raise enough we’d love to be able to build an outdoor storage area for boots and volunteer equipment to minimise the need for access to our small boot room.

If you can, please donate via our website, the donate button on our Facebook page or text VOLUNTEERING to 70085 to donate £1. You can also add a number up to 20 to give more, e.g. VOLUNTEERING5. Texts cost £1 plus one standard rate message and you’ll be opting in to hear more about our work and fundraising via telephone and SMS. If you’d like to give £1 but do not wish to receive marketing communications, just text VOLUNTEERINGNOINFO to 70085.

Many thanks!
