(April 2020) We’re living in truly unprecedented, uncertain times and the world is a very different place to the one we lived in a few short weeks ago. Just like all the amazing key workers who are tasked with keeping the country running, including our marvellous recycling team!, we’re all faced with the urgent need to consider other people’s safety much more than usual.

We’ve temporarily closed the Environment Centre but our work continues. We’re making rapid changes to our ways of working to continue to offer the inspiration and support our community needs to still connect to nature at this difficult time, and be ready to respond together to the climate and ecological emergency.

Ecotherapy handsWe continue to reach out to and support our volunteers as well as Ecotherapy participants and we’re adapting our outreach and education work. We’re also continuing our plans to strengthen York’s green corridors, supporting better, varied habitats for nature, people and planet alike.

If you can, please support this essential work for a greener, healthier city by making a donation – large or small, regular or one-off.

All donations will help us adapt and continue our work together towards making York a city where people value wildlife, the environment and each other equally – sustaining a rich and healthy life for all.
