Would you like to invite visitors into your home to see your eco improvements? Wondering what it takes to be an Open Eco Homes host? Anyone who has installed some energy saving measures such as draught-proofing, insulation, low energy lighting, renewable heating or electricity generation, and/or made other green living choices could be one of our hosts! The events in May aim to inspire visitors to have a go themselves at making their homes more eco-friendly as well as cheaper to run and more comfortable. It’s not about being a perfect example – it’s about sharing what has worked and what hasn’t. We often learn best from peers so sharing experiences is extremely valuable, and hosts may learn from their visitors too.

Come along to find out more and to hear how last year’s first event went from some of the hosts. After that you can decide whether you want to join in by opening your home one afternoon over the weekends of 14th and 21st May. There will be tips and training on how to make sure that the event runs smoothly for you. To give you a bit of an idea, below is a little video from another similar event. York Open Eco Homes is a part of the national Green Open Homes network and backed by social housing procurement consortium Efficiency North’s EN:Able Community Investment Fund.

Free entry. Home-made soup & bread will be available between 6.30-7pm.
