Weekend Wildwatch: Brilliant birds

Sat 14 Dec 2019 at 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

St Nicks Environment Centre, Rawdon Avenue, York, YO10 3ST

Bird watching at Tang Hall beck

Wildwatch is a volunteering opportunity that gives nature enthusiasts a chance to discover the wildlife that can be found on our 24 acre nature reserve. Since 2011 the Wildwatch volunteers have been meeting every Wednesday morning to help us record the different species on site and assist in surveying and monitoring.

Join the St Nicks team for our weekend Wildwatch volunteering session and help us to identify and record the exciting species that use the site. Meet at the Environment Centre where we’ll have field guides and binoculars to borrow.

Even though winter is upon us, there is still plenty of wildlife to see. This month we will be looking for the various bird species that can be found around the site. The bare tree canopies of winter make it much easier for spotting our fine feathered friends. We’ll also be noting the other exciting species that we find along the way.

No prior experience is required; nature enthusiasts of all ages welcome.

Free entry, donations welcome.

Booking is not essential but registering your interest via Eventbrite would be much appreciated. Thank you!

If you would like to join the weekly Wildwatch sessions, please get in touch with Maria by emailing volunteer@stnicks.org.uk.
