Weekend Wildwatch: Bats, moths and more

Sat 12 Oct 2019 at 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

St Nicks Environment Centre, Rawdon Avenue, York, YO10 3ST

Looking for nocturnal wildlife

Wildwatch is a volunteering opportunity that gives nature enthusiasts a chance to discover the wildlife that can be found on our 24 acre nature reserve. Since 2011 the Wildwatch volunteers have been meeting every Wednesday morning to help us record the different species on site and assist in surveying and monitoring.

Join the St Nicks team on our first weekend Wildwatch volunteering session and help us to identify and record the exciting species that use the site. Meet at the Environment Centre where we’ll have field guides and binoculars to borrow.

This month we will be looking for those elusive species that we don’t usually see in the daylight such as bats, moths, owls, foxes and more.

No prior experience is required; nature enthusiasts of all ages welcome. Bring a torch if possible.

Free entry, donations welcome.

Booking is not essential but registering your interest via Eventbrite would be much appreciated. Thank you!

If you would like to join the weekly Wildwatch sessions, please get in touch with Maria by emailing volunteer@stnicks.org.uk.
