Taking action can help manage feelings of eco-anxiety and gives you a great New Year’s resolution. Saving the planet is actually much more about safeguarding humanity’s future, which hinges on restoring a better balance between us and nature. York and other places in Yorkshire have committed to going net zero carbon by 2030 – how can we all help achieve that?
On the night you will:
Whether you’re a member of an organisation or interested individual, there is a lot you can do, and may already be doing. Join the sessions to foster inspiration, collaboration and creativity as well as to share your projects. No matter how much or little you’re already doing, you will get insight and new action ideas by taking part and connecting to like-minded people. Pledges will be reviewed each month so you can see how people are making a difference, and to keep up the motivation you will have access to them after the event.
To tackle the urgent crises while also recovering from the Covid pandemic, we all need to achieve zero carbon living as soon as possible. It will take action at all levels to get us there, not just the government or councils, so let’s help each other to get started or carry on. Please bring your positive ideas and solutions along to throw into the mix.
This event series is a collaboration between St Nicks, Speak Carbon and Oak Tree Sustainable Living Centre. We’re very pleased to be joined for this event by the University of York’s Green Impact team from The Department of Environment and Geography University of York, The York Environment Sustainability Institute and Stockholm Environment Institute. Other organisations with shared goals are warmly invited to join in and share. Future dates will be announced in the New Year.
