Update: We are sorry to announce that James Newton, of Native Architects and Yorspace, is now unable to present at our AGM. However, St Nicks Chief Officer Tom Waring and Outreach Officer Ivana Jakubkova will step in to deliver a joint presentation on the topic of sustainable buildings, focusing on experiences from the Environment Centre and York Open Eco Homes. Plans for the Centre expansion will also be discussed and you will have the opportunity to share your views on what it should be like.

James Newton of Native Architects, who is designing our Centre extension, will talk on what makes a building sustainable and why it’s good to use natural materials. Preceded by a family-friendly walk round the reserve and members’ AGM.

Programme:

  • 2pm family-friendly nature walk – learn about St Nicks’ varied habitats, which support almost 1,000 wildlife species identified so far, and how we manage them
  • 3pm AGM with refreshments
  • 4pm overview of St Nicks’ year and talk on sustainable building

Free entry, all welcome.
