Have a fun family adventure on St Nicks Nature Reserve, just one mile from the city centre. Discover the wonders of nature through a variety of hands-on activities: minibeast hunts, den or bug hotel building, nature-based crafts and more!

Session themes are:

  • Wed 7th – How to be a bird: join knowledgeable birdwatcher Chris Fuller for an interactive adventure exploring St Nicks from a bird’s perspective. Learn how birds hunt for food, sleep, make nest, what they eat and how they fly.
  • Tue 13th – Web of life: find out whose life depends on whom and make your own wildlife mini habitat
  • Wed 14th – Treemendous tree: learn to identify trees and make a tree den
  • Tue 20th – Meet the minibeasts: have a go at bug hunts and pond dipping
  • Wed 21st – Plant power: make potions and “hapa zomes” while learning about plants
  • Tue 27th – “Have a buzzing time!” with pollinators: make pollinator homes and seed bombs, and learn about the hard-working insects that help put food on our tables
  • Wed 28th – Meet the mammals: learn how to track mammals, check out hedgehog tunnels and dissect an owl pellet

Children must be accompanied. Booking is recommended via Evenbrite or on 01904 411821 but not necessary.

Cost: £3 per child aged 4-12. The events are part-funded thanks to the generosity of our Summer Concert supporters.
