An introduction to how St Nicks uses the heritage skill of hedgelaying for nature reserve management and increasing biodiversity. After a theoretical session explaining the why and how, you will get a chance to put what you have learnt into practice by having a go at laying an actual hedge in St Nicks woodland.
On this course you will learn to:
What to bring: strong footwear, plenty of warm clothes, waterproofs, gloves (optional), a packed lunch and a drink.
What we provide: All tools and equipment necessary for the course, and the instructor will run through how each tool should be used during the course. Gloves and goggles, hot drinks and biscuits are also provided. Parking and a toilet will be available on or near to the work site but we encourage participants to walk/cycle or use public transport to get to us if possible – see our directions page for more details.
