Several participants of York Open Eco Homes 2015 will bring and talk about items which don’t cost the earth. Things like chimney balloons, chimney sheep and other draught-proofing or energy saving measures for up to £50 have made their homes cosier, cheaper to run and more sustainable. Come and find out how to install them, or to share your own experiences! If you would like to take an active part just email Tomas at <littleecoterrace[at]> before the event.

Tomas of Little Eco Terrace will run the evening, which is part of a quarterly series of events spun out from the York Open Eco Homes. He has shown that it’s possible to turn the cheapest house in central York into an “A” rated “eco home” (as per Energy Performance Certificate) for around 10% of its purchase value. He and his partner have succeeded by employing a number of eco-refurbishment measures from low cost draught-proofing to some major building works and installation of solar PV panels.

The event is also part of For the Love of Yorkshire Festival organised by Zero Carbon Yorkshire initiative, which aims to start a county-wide conversation about climate change in the run up to the climate negotiations in Paris.
