Eco-Active Evening: Mowing & Sowing Meadows

Work up your appetite for a well deserved dinner at home by getting eco-active in your local meadow. Join in with mowing grass using traditional Austrian Scythes and removing the cuttings into habitat piles and compost areas. At this session we will also be sowing wildflower seeds to further improve the display next year. No matter how long you can stay on the day – even just 30 minutes will be a great help, you will be:
Who is the event suitable for?
All ages and abilities are welcome, full training will be given where needed and tools provided. Under 13s need to be accompanied by an adult and 13-17 year olds need parental consent. This event is part of our Meadow Keepers Project funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
