Eco-Active Day: Himalayan Balsam Control

Sat 11 May 2019 at 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

St Nicks Environment Centre, Rawdon Avenue, York, YO10 3ST

Join us in helping to control Himalayan Balsam – a highly invasive non-native plant species which is threatening the future of the becks by destabilising their banks and luring pollinating insects away from native wildflowers. Balsam removal sessions like this one will be vital to help ensure we can clear as much as possible before it seeds.

Let us know you’re coming by booking via Eventbrite or email volunteer@stnicks.org.uk.

Be part of this exciting improvement process by volunteering your time and energy on the day or by joining our regular volunteers. Tools and gloves will be provided.

Who is the event suitable for?
Anyone who’d like to have a go at volunteering, meeting new people and enjoying the outdoors while doing something useful as part of One Planet Living. Families and younger people are welcome – there will be a range of tasks for all ages. Please note that under 18s need parental consent and under 13s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
