How does your home lose heat? A lot of carbon emissions from housing are down to heating. (illustration by Caroline Miekina)
Please note booking via Eventbrite is essential in order to receive instructions on how to join the workshop on Zoom. This informal online workshop will cover the basics of how heat is lost in a home, how to find leaks and how to fix them.

It may be getting warmer outside but unwanted draughts can be a pain in any weather. They certainly make homes less comfortable as well as more expensive to run through increased heating costs. Reducing unwanted draughts, which can be done for little or no money, could make your home more comfortable, potentially cheaper to run and reduce your carbon footprint.

The workshop will be given by YCE volunteers who have been trained by our partner organisation Carbon Co-op, an award-winning energy services and advocacy co-operative. It will also look at the risks and issues around moisture management and ventilation. There will be opportunities to ask questions and share experiences.

No prior experience is needed. This is a joint event organised by York Community Energy and St Nicks.

Free entry (donations to either or both charities welcome via respective websites)
