Bearing Fruit: 7 November – The trees are now ordered!

Core Group Members Present: Eileen, Jonathan, Steven

Exciting times on the Bearing Fruit project as after 9 months of research, planning, mapping and expert consultancy we have finally decided on the trees for the orchard! Trees ordered are a mix of top fruits including apples, plums and pears, hedging trees such as blackthorn, crab apple, hazel and hawthorn, wild gooseberries and some extra special and quite rare Yorkshire heritage varieties of apple trees. The order went in to Rogers Nurseries in Pickering today and we should have the trees in time for out 2 planting days on the Saturday 3rd and Monday 5th December. For more details or to find out how to get involved in planting part of St Nicks very own community orchard please see the events page on our website or email
