Fix It Cafe launch at Wastebusters Fest on 17th June
Fix It Cafe launch at Wastebusters Fest on 17th June - a happy customer with one of our volunteers who fixed her appliance

Fix It Cafes run fortnightly on Thursday evenings between 29th June and 30th November.

Would you like to learn or share a skill of fixing things to stop them from going to waste? Over a cuppa, in a friendly atmosphere we will have a go at mending broken items to give them a new lease of life. From sewing buttons on to mending bikes or repairing a toaster, each session will offer a chance to learn something new. The sessions are open to tinkerers of all ages and skill levels.

We aim to have skilled sessional workers at each session, who can be reimbursed for their time. Please note that some of the sessions will be workshops, which will require booking ahead so please check the listings carefully for the date/s you’re interested in. Whether you are a mechanic, electrician, seamstress or tailor, or just like tinkering why not get in touch and see how you can get involved?  For more information, please contact our Recycling Coordinator Sam Taylor – sam@stnicks.org.uk

This 6-month pilot series of skill swap repair sessions or “Fix It Cafes” inspired by the Festival of Thrift is funded by the York Community Recycling Fund.
